A First for IllinoiSkating

It was a very successful weekend for IllinioSkating. As always, the competition was tough but they skated a very clean program. Clean enough to earn them 4th place and a pewter medal. The first ever medal for IllinoiSkating at Midwestern Sectionals. And, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place were only 2.14 points apart. One month until Nationals in Maine. The girls certainly have their work cut out for them.

In other HG news:
-We got to spend the evening with Audrey last night. She is smiling and cooing and doing all the cute things little babies do. She's perfect.
-Happy birthday to Jeanne, tomorrow. We love you JLA!
-Got a new car, a Beemer. Maybe I'll post a pic soon. Then again, maybe not. I have been driving a truck for 12 years so Rick promised that if I didn't like driving a car that he would give me back my beloved Escalade. I'll keep you posted.
-We're supposed to go to KY next week, but no power there due to ice storms. They have been without power for a week already and expect it to be at least another week, maybe several weeks. We'll just play it by ear.
-My Dad got a good check up last week. His tumor has shrunk by 20%! That's huge! Why can't he be the one that lives for years with Stage 4 lung cancer?
-Blowjobavich is finally outta here! No one is happier about this than Rick and I. Apparently his daughter skates for Chicago Skates and had her security detail pulled last Thursday night from the hotel at Mids. That poor girl.

In The News

Bobby Brown, the loser druggy husband, or maybe ex-husband by now, of Whitney Houston was recently arrested somewhere out east and charged with possession of a small amount of cocaine. He was found guilty at his trial and the judge actually sentenced him to be a mentor. Are you fucking kidding me? A mentor to who? I don't know about you but I think that is effed up.

Also in the Chicago news, they have taken away Drew Peterson's gun permit. Now there's a concept. Ya think?! What took them so long?

I have too many things to rant about regarding Governor Blowjobavich and not enough time. Some other day.

Anderson family news update:

• Hawaii was absolutely fabulous and I will post more about that soon, I promise.
• IllinoiSkating took 5th place at Nationals. Their best showing ever. Maybe a medal next year.
• Today is day 49 and still no cigs. Rick has been off the chew for 42 days. I've been off the meds for the last 7 days and feel great. So far we have saved $350 on cigs and chew! We're setting that dough aside for one of our sun-filled vacations. Much better spent on that.
