We have lived here for 14 years and as long as I can remember the geese have also lived here, in the pond next door, that is. Every spring they return to have their babies. Last year they had six goslings and to the best of our knowledge, none of them survived. Poor babies. For the last two weeks there has been an unbelievable amount of squawking, day and night,
from the geese. The
nighttime squawking has been relentless. Fending off coyotes, I'm sure. Then on Monday we understood it all. The goslings made their debut. There are five this year. Tough to get a picture since the moment you start heading towards them the mom and dad quickly hustle them away. This morning as we were having coffee, the geese, with babies in tow, made there way through our yard and to the pond. Such a special sight to start our day. Just thought I'd share.
